HCI3 was developed by employers, physicians, health care services researchers and other industry experts. We began with a simple mission: to create significant leaps in the quality of care.  Our goal from the start has been to recognize and reward clinicians who have implemented comprehensive solutions in the management of patients, and deliver safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable and patient-centered care.

HCI3 has formally partnered and is working with many organizations that support the active implementation of the Bridges to Excellence and PROMETHEUS Payment programs. Below is a complete list of all of the organizations HCI3 has carefully reviewed and considers BTE- or PROMETHEUS-approved.

Their goal is to accelerate the improvement of health by publicly reporting health care information. IPRO
IPRO is a health care consulting organization that works with state and federal governments and private corporations to optimize the quality of health care programs and the value of dollars spent on health care. They are committed to assessing and improving the value of health care services received by consumers through the use of innovative methods and technologies. IPRO is collaborating with HCI3 by acting as a performance assessment organization, scoring clinical data from clinicians and practices for BTE Recognitions. In addition, they provide analytical support for organizations that want to have a potentially avoidable complication (PAC) analysis performed.

National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)
The NCQA has been a central figure in driving quality improvement throughout the health care system. The NCQA seal is a widely recognized symbol of quality, in which organizations incorporating the seal must first pass a rigorous, comprehensive review and must annually report on their performance. For consumers and employers, the seal is a reliable indicator that an organization is well-managed and delivers high quality care and service. NCQA is collaborating with HCI3 by acting as a performance assessment organization, scoring clinical data from clinicians and practices for BTE Recognitions.

PROMETHEUS-approved organizations able to conduct ECR Analytics:

MassPRO transforms healthcare through developing and disseminating innovative solutions across all sectors of the healthcare delivery system. MassPRO is collaborating with HCI3 by helping to perform potentially avoidable complication (PAC) analyses.

Blue Health Intelligence
Blue Health Intelligence (BHI), a for-profit organization, is the data and analytics shop for 19 Blue Health Plans. They have a huge database of over 47 million covered lives across many states in the US. Since Jan 2010, they have undertaken to run the PROMETHEUS analytics across the various Blues Health plans to identify opportunity for cost savings, outcomes management and risk stratification. Through detailed analysis of health plans claims data, BHI has demonstrated areas of cost reduction and quality improvement through identification of PACs (potentially avoidable complications). Partnering with PROMETHEUS they have created the Blues Learning Network to educate member plans and are now working towards publishing some of these interesting findings in peer review journals.

Organizations with PROMETHEUS-approved Implementation Claims Engine:
